Inside the program
Project-based learning
A new real-world project at the start of each week, built during the week and submitted at the end for review and grading. Six shipped projects by graduation.
Personalised feedback
Every submission is graded by your instructor with notes on what works, what breaks and what to fix next. Each week opens with a retro on the last one.
Community
A community of developers and instructors: a small pod with one instructor who runs your sessions and reviews your work, the rest of your cohort, and the alumni already placed abroad.
Presentation meeting
Every week you present what you built to your instructor and pod, talk through what worked and what broke, then submit.
Alumni workshops
Graduates now working with international companies come back to show how they work and what they've learned on the job.
Professionalism workshops
The Koya team on what it takes to succeed in a placement: communication, standups, documentation, handing over work. At Koya and beyond.
Office hours
Open sessions with the Koya team to ask questions, work through blockers, and help other learners with theirs.
Claude certification
Graduates who qualify for placement sit Anthropic's Claude Certified Developer exam. The exam costs $125 and Koya covers it.

A path I never saw myself on.
The training put me into a path I didn't ever see myself getting into. Through the various tasks and weekly check-ins, I was able to build industry level skill in no time. Transitioning into the remote job was seamless.

Quite surreal that it's free.
With the quality of instructors, as well as the amount of care infused in it by the program managers, it's quite surreal that it's completely free. All you have to do as a participant is put in the work to learn.

They found the right fit, not just a job.
I was skeptical at first about the promise of a job, but they delivered beyond my expectations. They didn't just throw a job at me; they considered my personality and skills to find a client that was the right fit. Even after the placement, they stuck around for another four weeks.

Felt too good to be true.
Free learning sessions and the chance to land a job. Getting accepted turned out to be a really eye-opening experience. By the end of the program, I didn't just pick up a new skill. I landed a role that aligns with my interests.

Clear, practical, easy to apply.
The lessons were clear, practical, and easy to apply. I really enjoyed the 1:1 sessions with Temi. The daily check-ins with other participants were very encouraging, and celebrating each other's wins kept us motivated.

I didn't leave the way I came in.
I definitely didn't leave the same way I entered in terms of skills and knowledge. Thank you to you guys for bridging the gap for Nigerians to work with foreign companies.

Set up like a real workplace.
The program was set up to put everyone at their best behaviour for a proper work environment. There were stand ups, attendance, meetings and handover docs. It was done well.

Every requirement is a starting point.
The workshops expose us to what the real world expects of us, and often clear up misconceptions we didn't know we had. The demos pushed me to think well beyond a given set of must-haves, and to treat every requirement as a starting point rather than a ceiling.
